A van holds a steady speed along a motorway. A skydiver stops getting any faster. A conker whirls round on a string, and a skater shoves a wall and rolls away from it. Four different scenes, and one idea sits under all of them: what a resultant force does to the way something moves. This is Newton's laws and motion, the chapter that explains every one of those scenes with three laws.
Here's the whole chapter on your screen. Every video suits combined science and separate physics students alike, and you only need to decide where to enter.
Newton's First Law is the way in if the laws are new to you, and the one the other two lean on. A common slip is naming the law when the mark is for the reason, and that video is built around giving the reason. Newton's Second Law, the F equals m a one, is where the calculations live. The equation itself is handled well, and the marks slip on reasoning about which quantity stays the same. Inertia and inertial mass is Higher tier only, so Foundation students can skip it. For everyone else it is the second law read the other way round. Newton's Third Law is the one most worth a second watch. A common slip is not seeing that the two forces in a pair push on separate objects. Terminal velocity is not examined on every course, so check yours. If it isn't on yours, it is still Newton's laws at work, and worth a watch. Circular motion and velocity is Higher only as well, and it is the first idea applied to a turn. If part of this is already familiar, go to the row that isn't. Every video can be searched by its name or its code, and the quickest way is the scholafly.com website, which lists every video in every subject. Type ScholaFly and the code into the search box, and that exact video comes up.
Next in the chapter is Newton's First Law. Hopefully that's next in your feed, but if not, search for ScholaFly P H oh four, oh one.
Every other video is on scholafly.com too, easy to search by video code or by keyword. Whatever you're revising, go there and have a look, or, watch the next video.
