Identify the planes and axes of symmetry of prisms, cylinders, pyramids and cones.
What it covers
- Planes of symmetry: a flat cut through a 3D solid that produces two mirror-image halves
- Axes of symmetry: a line through a 3D solid about which it can be rotated and still look the same
- Applying both ideas to prisms, cylinders, pyramids and cones specifically
- The special case of a cylinder or cone having an infinite number of planes of symmetry through its central axis
