A calculator never gets a sum wrong. When an answer comes out wrong, it is nearly always the buttons, or the way the display was read. This is Applied Number: Time, Money and the Calculator, three short videos on the everyday numbers every GCSE maths paper leans on.
Here's the whole chapter laid out on your screen, plus a couple of things worth knowing before you press play on the first video.
It opens with using a calculator efficiently, so the right keys give you the right display. Then it moves on to calculating with time, hours and minutes included. It finishes with calculating with money and converting currencies. Foundation or Higher, on any exam board, every video in this chapter applies to you.
One practical thing first: every video here carries its own short, searchable code, sitting right beside its title. Say you want the time video. Search ScholaFly M A oh eight, oh two, and that exact video comes straight up.
The other trick is the thumbs-up on each video. Once something has properly landed for you, tap it, and that video marks itself as done. Anything left without a thumbs-up naturally becomes your revision list. If something hasn't clicked yet, save it to a playlist, because most of this settles on a second watch. And my commitment to you is this: if I've not done a great job teaching something and it's confusing, leave a comment, and I'll have a crack at making a better video.
Next in the chapter is Using a calculator efficiently, where the keys and the display get sorted first. Hopefully that's next in your feed - but if not, search for ScholaFly M A oh eight, oh one.
